## Why I built PIZZA OG
"I have loved pizza since I was a kid. Being from NYC, I had access to the best pizza, so when I traveled the world, I was always comparing. There is great pizza everywhere, and I wanted to share it. I wanted to share my love of pizza with everyone and make it social." - Gregg D, founder

## What PIZZA OG is
- A free, hyper-local pizza guide (also called Pizza Finder AI).
- Every spot shows a budget sign: $ = cheap (under about $15), $$ = moderate (about $15–$25), $$$ = splurge ($25+), for a typical pie.
- Restroom notes are shown only when confirmed; otherwise "check / tell us".
- Sponsored spots, if any, are always labeled. No invented ratings.
- Shop: "We may earn a small commission if you buy — it never changes your price." Buy links go to the store (rel=sponsored); prices were checked Sep 25, 2026 and change often.

- New Haven apizza — thin, chewy, charred, oblong; coal or oil oven. "Mootz" = mozzarella; a plain tomato pie has no mootz; famous white clam pie.
- Coal-fired — very hot coal oven, charred crust.
- Roman — pizza al taglio, by the slice from a tray.
- Chicago — deep dish.
- Ohio Valley pizza — Square sheet pizza, sold by the cut; Crust baked with sauce; Cold provolone + toppings go on AFTER the oven; The box steam melts it a little; Born in Steubenville, OH, 1945 (DiCarlo's).
- Old Forge pizza — Order a TRAY, not a pie; Cut in squares — called “cuts”; Red tray: sauce + cheese; White: double crust, often rosemary; Old Forge, PA (near Scranton).
